HamburgerHummus.com is a site that serves as the main stage for the Hamburger Hummus web series, a comedy that is based around a group of
American bloggers traveling to Israel for a tech conference. Our approach to the site was to create an experience that was as colorful and offbeat as the personalities in the series. We wanted to do something that stood out from the influx of all the overly technical looking websites, and celebrate the medium where blogging and journalism started.
Paper! was our inspiration.
We felt constructing the entire backdrop of our site in paper craft would create the perfect backdrop for our stories to unfold. Over the duration of a month we fabricated a 25’ wide set consisting of 7 key scenes all based around the theme of modern day Israel. The entire set was shot with a motion control rig, and seamlessly transitioned from one scene to the next. The vibrant backdrops were contextual and played off the plot and location of each video in the series, encouraging viewers to move on and watch all the episodes.
